Early Years Teacher – ‘Ready for School’ Project – 1 Year fixed term Hackney
The ‘Ready for School’ project is an innovative pilot that aims to prepare children from the Pembury estate in Hackney to make a successful transition to school through a programme of home learning and co-ordinated family support, both pre-reception and during the first year of school. Linden Children’s Centre, on behalf of the partnership, are looking to appoint a talented teacher or early years professional to take the lead and bring this exciting project to life. The partnership comprises of Linden Children’s Centre (Hackney Learning Trust), Peabody (the social landlord on the Pembury estate) and Mossbourne Parkside Academy (the local school). The project is funded by Save the Children and forms part of a ten-year ground-breaking programme to improve the life chances of Pembury children. There is a real enthusiasm about this project between the partners and a passion for giving children the best possible start to their school lives. This is not a standard teaching role and would be an ideal opportunity for someone that is looking for part-time work with flexibility and can rise to the challenge of leading on a new project.
