Housing Support Workers - Colchester (SW) Colchester, CO3
Colchester Temporary Housing service is a service for homeless households who are awaiting assessment, or being assessed by Colchester Borough Homes as to their right to be housed by the housing authority. We work with young people, single adults and families. Some will move on to social housing whilst others may be found intentionally homeless and will move to the private rented sector. Staff provide a support service to meet the needs of licensees whilst they live in any of the schemes within the service. The team works closely with Colchester Borough Homes to facilitate move-on into appropriate accommodation.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the housing management for a patch of approx. 300 Supported Housing tenants. The scheme provides support & accommodation to young people aged 16-21 years being referred through the Essex County Council gateway. The scheme operates 24 hours, 7 days a week, across 365 days per year (incl. weekends & bank holidays). The staff team work within a rolling 6 week rota which includes 1- 2 sleep in duties on average per week.
